Office based circa 3 days per week - City of London

Role Overview:

A dynamic organisation specialising in modern, comprehensive software solutions for the insurance market is seeking a talented Power BI Developer to join their Business Intelligence team. The role focuses on designing, developing, and enhancing BI reporting within the data warehouse environment to deliver accessible, insightful information for a range of stakeholders and clients.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of Business Intelligence reports - from analysis and design to development, implementation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to quality, and the ability to manage multiple complex requirements while delivering excellent customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain Business Intelligence reports using Power BI and related technologies

Domain knowledge - experience in the market / London / Lloyds / from a software house / consultancy / supplier.

Collaborate across teams to analyse and design BI solutions that meet business needs

Ensure high-quality, reliable data insights and reporting outputs

Engage with stakeholders to prioritise and deliver complex requirements effectively

Support junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing (if applicable)

Proactively identify issues early in the software development lifecycle

Required Skills & Experience:

Lloyds of London / London Market experience needed
Extensive experience in BI and SQL development

Strong MI analysis capabilities

Knowledge of design and architectural patterns in BI

Familiarity with Agile methodologies

Experience working with software suppliers, consultancies, or service providers

Ability to prioritise diverse, complex requirements

Technical expertise in:

T-SQL

Power BI

Microsoft SSIS

Microsoft SSRS

Distributed source control systems (Git, Mercurial, etc.)

Experience with Snowflake is desirable but not essential

Understanding of insurance terminology
