Head of Data - Hybrid Remote (flexible location) 

Bibby Financial Services have an exciting opportunity available for a reliable Head of Data to join our team. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £110,000-£130,000 per annum.

The Head of Data will lead the data strategy and execution for BFS whilst ensuring alignment with the overall strategic business objectives. The Head of Data is accountable for value creation by leveraging the company’s data and analytics assets and is pivotal in driving data-driven decision-making across the organization and ensuring strong data governance and data integrity are enforced. You will work in close collaboration with IT for delivery of data products.

Your responsibilities as our Head of Data will include:

Strategic Data Leadership

Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the company’s strategic goals.

Develop & communicate a clear roadmap, ensuring that it is flexible & evolves with the business

Work with the IT team to identify and evaluate new data technologies and drive adoption where appropriate and beneficial to BFS objectives

Monitor, measure, and report the realization of expected benefits associated with projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, accountability for outcomes, and continuous improvement through data-driven insights

Change & Adoption

Drive adoption of data strategy roadmap activities ; skills plan, use case adoption, frameworks adoption, usage adoption, data-driven culture roll out ; drive & develop data team ; collaborate across business with key stakeholders and external stakeholders

Act as a key liaison between the data team and other business units.

Change and adoption are pivotal to fostering a strong data culture within the organisation, making it essential for the successful candidate to actively embrace and drive these initiatives.

Data Analytics and Insights:

Lead the design & development of advanced analytics capabilities to provide actionable insights.

Collaborate with business leaders to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.

Drive the use of ML and AI technologies

Building, prioritising and driving delivery of our strategic backlog of data products / use cases.

Team Leadership and Development

Build and lead a high-performing data team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.

What we are looking for in our ideal Head of Data:

Proven experience in a senior data leadership role, preferably as a Head of Data.

Close collaboration with IT for delivery of data products.

Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and bridge the business / IT worlds to deliver value for the organisation.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Technical data & AI knowledge / experience in shaping and delivering data products

Monitor, measure, and report the realization of expected benefits associated with projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, accountability for outcomes, and continuous improvement through data-driven insights

Building, prioritising and driving delivery of our strategic backlog of data products / use cases.

Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

Expertise in data governance, data quality, and data protection regulations.

Proficiency in data analytics tools and technologies.

Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

Having Financial Services experience is desired.
