Head Of IT – Oxfordshire - £80,000-£90,000

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Head of IT to lead and evolve our clients technology estate. This is a pivotal role, responsible for both the day-to-day operation and support of the existing infrastructure and for delivering a transformational IT strategy that will underpin significant business growth.

The successful candidate will bring strong technical and leadership experience, excellent stakeholder communication, and a hands-on understanding of what it takes to drive performance and reliability across both legacy and modern platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the IT function, including network infrastructure, service delivery, and systems support.

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive IT strategy aligned to business goals and growth plans.

  • Oversee the support and optimisation of the existing IT estate, including legacy platforms.

  • Ensure high levels of service delivery and user satisfaction across the business.

  • Act as the lead for all major IT projects, ensuring delivery to time, scope and budget.

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organisation to understand needs and provide scalable, secure, and innovative solutions.

    Ideal Experience & Skills

  • Experience supporting and maintaining AS400 / iSeries mainframes

  • Working knowledge of RPG programming

  • Strong understanding of the Microsoft 365 stack including Power Platform, SharePoint, Azure, Teams.

  • In-depth experience with networking infrastructure, architecture and cloud technologies.

  • Familiarity with data warehousing, system integrations and enterprise architecture.

  • Demonstrated experience managing a service delivery team, with a focus on excellent customer support and system uptime.

  • Proven ability to lead and deliver strategic IT transformation initiatives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

    This is a fantastic role which will be hybrid position. You will be coming in as a technically strong and aware candidate, particularly around the networks and infrastrure aspect of the IT estate.
