THE COMPANY
Sorion designs and manufactures bespoke guided assembly, collaborative robotics, and end of line test systems to a range of industry sectors: automotive, aerospace, warehousing and manufacturing.

THE ROLE
A fantastic opportunity to join an established and growing company located near the centre of Birmingham. Sorion is looking for a well-rounded IT Administrator to implement, document, maintain and provide support for the IT network at Sorion to maintain availability and performance. Secondary functions include implementation and configuration of IT systems and software as part of our products and services; and assisting with IT support and preventative maintenance for our customers’ systems in conjunction with our technical support team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administering the IT infrastructure of our medium-sized tech-based company
  • Defining and administering Windows Server based Systems, Azure, Microsoft Office (365) and SQL Server on both physical and virtual servers
  • Applying the requirements of ISO 27001 with an awareness of Cyber Essentials
  • General support of office-based users and VPN administration for remote working
  • Hands on network installation
  • Assisting with IT support and preventative maintenance for our customers’ systems
    LOCATION AND COMMITMENTS
    This is a permanent role based in our Birmingham office (outside the Clean Air Zone) with occasional onsite customer visits across the UK. This role may require the occasional working outside normal hours, as swapping out servers and network kit during the day would hamper the operation of the business.
    QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Computing Orientated Degree or Equivalent
  • MSCE / MCP / CCNA – preferred but not essential
    Time served will also be taken into consideration, as experience is viewed as important
    PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
  • Hyper-V
  • Web site administration
  • Version control e.g. TortoiseSVN
  • Veeam Backup
  • Draytek / D-Link hardware
  • Level 1 IT helpdesk support
