We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a secondary school in Bromley. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various scientific disciplines and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves educating students in key scientific concepts, encouraging critical thinking, and promoting a love for science through engaging lessons and practical laboratory experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.

  • Teach various scientific subjects, including but not limited to Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Biochemistry.

  • Conduct laboratory experiments and demonstrations to enhance students' understanding of scientific principles.

  • Implement behaviour management strategies to maintain a conducive learning environment.

  • Provide individual tutoring and support for students who require additional assistance.

  • Assess student performance through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to promote improvement.

  • Engage in scientific research projects that can be integrated into the classroom experience.

  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and any concerns.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational practices and advancements in science.

    Skills

  • Strong knowledge of scientific concepts across various disciplines including Biochemistry and Maths.

  • Experience in special education is advantageous for supporting diverse learning needs.

  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and safety protocols.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex information to students of varying abilities.

  • Ability to proofread educational materials for clarity and accuracy.

  • Strong organisational skills to manage classroom activities and resources efficiently.

  • Experience in behaviour management techniques to foster a positive classroom atmosphere.
