Location: Theale with hybrid working

Salary £50-55k pa

Reports to: Software Development Manager

Hague is a highly successful, customer-focused organisation with offices across the UK and Australia.  We work closely with businesses around the world providing unique print, software and IT solutions.

Hague has grown significantly over the years and is now one of the leading SME’s in the Yorkshire region. We now have a new opportunity for an experienced Software Developer to join the team.

Key Purpose of the Role:
To design, develop, and support software applications that meet business and customer needs, including new web and desktop solutions and enhancements to existing systems. The role includes troubleshooting, installations, upgrades, and contributing to ongoing improvements while staying current with technology and ensuring compliance with company standards

Key Responsibilities:

Analyse user requirements and design, develop, and launch new software and web applications.
Support, maintain, and enhance existing software projects, identifying areas for improvement.
Write, test, refine, and maintain high-quality code across various platforms and languages.
Create technical specifications, develop test plans, and carry out system testing and fault finding.
Perform installations, upgrades, and deliver training where required, using online support tools.
Stay up to date with technical developments and continuously expand your skillset through courses and self-learning.
Ensure compliance with company policies, particularly around health & safety and information security.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships within the company and across the Hague Group.
Person Specification:

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Relevant IT training or qualifications
Proven experience in software development
Proficient in C++ for Windows desktop/server applications
Skilled in C# and the .NET Framework
Experience with HTML, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and jQuery
Strong understanding of relational databases and MS SQL Server
Familiarity with networking and internet technologies
Desirable Skills:

Experience with Git, TFS, or other version control systems
Exposure to Azure or AWS cloud platforms
Knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Windows Server
Knowledge & Skills:

Solid understanding of MVC and object-oriented programming
Strong problem-solving abilities and technical documentation skills
Personal Attributes:

High attention to detail and quality-focused mindset

Able to work both independently and collaboratively
Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement
Calm under pressure and adaptable to changing needs
Strong initiative and organisational skills
Security-conscious with a professional approach to all tasks
Other Requirements:

May be required to undertake periodic Basic DBS checks
Current UK driving licence preferred
