Job Overview: Working with our client, a successful injection moulding company, we are looking for a Toolmaker to join their established team to support continued business growth.

Role:

  • As a Toolmaker you will be responsible for providing support to the company’s manufacturing operations by repairing and maintaining tooling to a production standard.

  • Successful candidates will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in an injection moulding toolroom, ideally with experience in CNC Milling and EDM spark erosion.

  • This is an excellent opportunity to work a Monday to Friday days role in a well-equipped & modern Toolroom.

    Responsibilities:

  • Carry out work assigned by the Tool Room Team Leader to maximise tool efficiency in line with KPIs.

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality production tools by operating lathes, millers and other specific machinery

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues

  • Diagnose tool faults and troubleshoot/fix issues

  • Operate tools such as lathes, millers, grinders etc

  • Use specific measuring equipment such as micrometres and verniers

  • Strip and rebuild tools for maintenance/repair and service

  • Ensure the company safety policies and procedures are adhered to making sure that you do not carry out unsafe working practices.

  • Report all incidents, accidents, and near misses.

  • Ensure the operation of specific machinery is carried out in a safe manner

  • Maintain a positive team culture through the demonstration of the right behaviors in line with the Company’s core values (Partnership, Integrity, Respect and Commitment).

  • Support colleagues and the business through a strong work ethic and the desire to do things right the first time.

    Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience working in an injection moulding toolroom

  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering, ONC equivalent

  • Strong understanding of injection mould tool designs and functions

  • Knowledge of spark erosion (EDM) process (desirable)

  • Knowledge of automotive injection moulding tools (desirable)

  • CNC Milling (desirable)

  • MIG/TIG welding (desirable)

  • Ability to work under own initiative

  • Structured, highly organised and disciplined

  • Highly personable with an ability to build close relationships at all levels

  • Excellent attention to detail
